A recent study by Forbes under the title \u201cThe Digital Workplace in the Cognitive Era\u201d provides an overview of how companies are evolving in their processes of digital transformation, and especially, how will be these new digital workspaces in a future where mobility is already an increasingly important factor.<\/p>\n

This report reveals that there is an explicit change in the way we work<\/a><\/strong>: at work, we expect the same tactile and intuitive experience as in our personal devices, we assume that our equipment will communicate and update automatically and, in short, we hope that everything we need for our work will be as easy to adapt as a video app or streaming music. And we want to use our own devices<\/a><\/strong>; is the BYOD<\/a> trend<\/strong> that gains fans with each passing day.<\/p>\n

Richard Esp\u00f3sito, general manager of GTS Mobility Services at IBM, points out that \u201cusers want to choose their own devices, and expect the kind of experience they have with consumer devices.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

In this sense, the way we work will continue to evolve<\/strong>, and will do so in the face of advances in both devices and applications: digital voice assistants, augmented reality devices, etc., so the tools that have defined the workplace for decades, could soon become obsolete.<\/p>\n

Many people already use their mobile numbers on different devices and today’s computers will continue to evolve into smaller, simpler devices that will incorporate new forms of collaboration<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Also virtual reality is making its way into the workspace, as do portable devices, able to increase safety at work, reduce stress and even save lives thanks to functions such as geotracking, the capture of environmental data or sending alerts in remote locations where it can be difficult to communicate over the phone.<\/p>\n

All this shows that the infrastructure as a service model has revolutionized the way in which IT resources can be implemented in many companies<\/strong>. But the great challenge will be to integrate these new technologies into a cognitive platform. It is then when these new technologies are driven by collective knowledge about the company, the user, the location, thus fostering the creation of a more optimal workplace<\/strong>, either real or virtual.<\/p>\n

Therefore, cognitive systems will change the workplace in ways we have not yet imagined, concludes this study<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
