IP TELEPHONY: WHAT IT DOES<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IP telephony or ToIP (Telephony over Internet Protocol) is telephony where the voice signal is sent in the form of data packets over the Internet (Voice over IP) or a Virtual Private Network (VPN).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&nbsp;<strong>uses the Internet Protocol<\/strong>, hence the abbreviation IP. VoIP operators are also interconnected with the traditional telephone network to enable communication between VoIP users and traditional telephony subscribers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This interconnection with the traditional telephone network&nbsp;<strong>allows calls to be made to traditional telephone numbers<\/strong>, such as geographical numbers, mobile numbers, nomadic numbers and\/or <a href=\"https:\/\/enreach.es\/en\/telephone-numbering\/900-lines\/\">special rate numbers (902, 900, 800&#8230;)<\/a>; and to have a geographical number that any user can call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>IP telephony is based on Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) technology, which converts voice into data packets so that they can be sent over the Internet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Voice_over_IP\">Find out more about Voice over IP on Wikipedia<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-321e780b15d83227eabf983cafd57315\" style=\"color:#39006c;text-transform:uppercase\"><strong>3. We could talk about VoIP technology.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>VoIP would not exist without Voice over IP, as it is the basis of its operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-bcaa9bb0d9e08f0bbfd1f44d4a7d12b5\" style=\"color:#39006c;text-transform:uppercase\"><span style=\"color: #39006c;\"><strong>4. HOW DOES IP TELEPHONY WORK?<\/strong><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, voice is analogue, and&nbsp;<strong>operators convert this analogue signal into data packets so that they can be sent over the Internet.<\/strong>&nbsp;These packets are then&nbsp;<strong>decompressed to be heard by the person<\/strong>&nbsp;at the other end of the line. The VoIP user dials the phone number of another traditional phone user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>2. The VoIP operator connects to the PSTN and connects to User B&#8217;s number. The data packets are sent over the Internet until they connect to the telephone network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>8. In fact, to set them up, you need to use a computer and access the IP phone&#8217;s software.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #ac96ff;\"><strong>IP ATA adapter<\/strong><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<strong>IP adapter, or ATA adapter, is a device that allows regular telephones to be used with VoIP<\/strong>. This adapter converts the signal from analogue phones into data packets and vice versa. VOIP VS. The difference between the two lies in the channel through which the communication takes place, but also in their requirements and characteristics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each telephony system has its advantages and disadvantages. A few years ago, it was suggested that the disadvantage of VoIP was poor call quality, but as network speeds have improved, this is no longer an issue.
