Companies are increasingly interested in SIP Trunking services. A business that has registred sustainable growth so far this year, according to the latest report by Software Advice, owned by the technological consultant Garner, which analyzes products and services in the field of telecommunications.
The main advantages offered by this solution, which enables carrying communications from analogue phone lines to the net, are fewer costs and an increase in flexibility, among others. In particular, Gartner suggests that it is possible to save up to 50% of the cost of the service by changing traditional voice communications to SIP Trunking.
The expansion of SIP Trunking
According to Software Advice, even if the implementation of SIP Trunking hasn’t completely replaced traditional telephony services yet, 69% of IT professionals already go for this solution in their organizations. Figures that are ten points above initial estimations.
Apart from the cost reductions this technology enables, among the reasons for companies to choose this solution are security and support services. In fact, 23% of respondents appointed security as the reason why they chose their supplier, while 22% highlighted the importance of an efficient support service that enables a fast service restoration after an interruption and that ensures an easy scalability of their telephony system. Furthermore, 16% based their provider choice on pricing model.
User satisfaction
Those responsible for the report suggest that although audio quality was a common problem when VoIP technology was born, there currently exists a high level of satisfaction among companies that have adopted SIP Trunking services. In particular, 73% of consulted organizations claimed to be “very” or “extremely” satisfied.

Software Advice highlights their analyses reveals that it is small-sized and medium-sized companies that are quickly adopting SIP Trunking services.
