In early 2020, companies continue to invest in business mobility solutions. According to data from one study, 57.53% of respondents will increase the budget for new technological solutions; 32.88% will keep the investments; and 9.59% will decrease the money invested in 2019.

Data analysts suggest that technology and IT spending will be increased, even if an economic recession occurs. Business mobility and digitalization are essential for the survival of organizations.

What Business Mobility Solutions Will Be Invested In 2020?

By 2020, most respondents plan to invest in a variety of mobility solutions: 21.33% will invest in cloud solutions, 17.33% will do so in mobility, and 13.33% in mobile applications. In this regard, 65.33% of respondents reported feeling optimistic about the state of business mobility and digital transformation.

While this optimism surrounding the industry is excellent, it is true that there are still concerns on the part of companies. The major concerns include cybersecurity and lack of sufficient resources to properly integrate new technologies.

Cloud Computing And Cybersecurity

As the workforce moves rapidly, most companies have begun to invest in new technologies. In particular, migration to the cloud remains a priority for organizations, given that the cloud is useful and accessible to all types of industry and its ability to collect data has become an essential tool for companies that want to keep up to date in today’s competitive market. The cloud is also superior in terms of flexibility and mobility, which is crucial along with the growing trend of teleworkers and remote collaboration.

According to the AiiA study, most companies have already migrated to the cloud. 33.33% of respondents have migrated to a public cloud solution, 14.67% to a private cloud solution and 28% to a hybrid cloud solution. When asking about the biggest challenge in relation to Cloud Computing, 46.67% of respondents replied that they were security and privacy; 22.67% costs; 21.33% loss of data control; and 9.33% “others.”

The fact that cybersecurity will always be a number one priority, was reflected in the results of the study. There are no questions about why companies would prioritize keeping their data safe; especially given the fact that cybersecurity can be one of the most time-consuming enterprise mobility initiatives, as it also includes educating employees about it.

Although it is not controversial that cybersecurity is a priority for any company, several data analysts said they did not believe that security and privacy should be the company’s main concerns when it comes to Cloud Computing. Thus, 77.33% of respondents said that the state of mobile business security is improving, a symbol of the general optimism that people feel regarding business mobility and digital transformation in general. However, maintaining a sense of caution is a good practice when it comes to cybersecurity.

Business Mobility Management, Mobile Device Management And Mobile App Development

Business mobility has come a long way in just a few years. Because the use of mobile devices for work-related purposes has become a fact, it is imperative that companies find a way to protect company data, as well as support the autonomy and ability of employees to work remote form.

Despite the good results regarding mobility investments during 2019, companies are struggling to move forward and continue developing comprehensive mobility strategies for this year. It seems that these three factors (budget, time / resources / skills and development of a comprehensive strategy) go hand in hand and are interconnected.

Without the right budget, there are no resources, which, in the end, mean that there is no strategy. In addition to the budget, resources and the real development of a comprehensive mobility strategy, the results of the study also show that, for 25.93% of respondents, managing expectations is another major challenge for companies when it comes to business mobility.

The difficulty of managing expectations seems to be a consequence of not having an established mobility strategy complete enough. Before implementing a mobile application or investing in new technologies, a company’s strategy must not only detail exactly what that organization aims at, but also what is realistic and attainable.

Most companies understand that mobile apps can offer a variety of benefits for users, as well as for the workplace. In fact, a well-designed mobile application has great potential to strengthen the business-customer relationship and improve employee productivity.

In conclusion, because digitalization is happening rapidly and because mobility has the ability to transform the ways in which a company operates, it will be essential that organizations prioritize the right initiatives and make the right investments. All companies must be operating in the cloud to take advantage of all mobility opportunities and make significant progress with the transformation. In 2020, companies must focus on developing comprehensive strategies to mobilize their workforce.
